Happy Easter!

Last Sunday at church we had an egg hunt. Once Kensi got started she had a fun time looking for and picking up all her eggs - which equaled 4 haha

Little Kensi was a bit scared of the Easter bunny today :/

Happy Easter from the Rogers!

Portland Bound

Last weekend, we were able to travel to Portland to introduce Kensi to her extended family! We were a bit anxious about how she would do on the plan but she was an angel.  On the flight out, she did not want to go to sleep, but she just played and ate and went back and forth between the two of us the entire time.  But then on the way back to Atlanta, she slept for 2.5 hours! She was a perfect little angel and barely made a peep! Kyle's Aunt Sharon was an amazing hostess who opened her home to us all weekend! Grandma Lucy came to visit from Corvallis too!

While we were in Portland we were able to introduce her to her Great-grandma Joyce and Bumpa! They were excited to meet Kensi and I know Kensi loved meeting and spending time with them too.  She warmed right up to Grandma and shortly after up to Bumpa. Gigi was also there, so she felt very comfortable :)

You would never have known that Grandma was just cleared after being diagnosed with bladder cancer and going through chemo.  She was on the floor playing, carrying Kensi around and having a great time with her only great grandchild.

This was just precious, only a few minutes after we arrived, Kensi got her favorite book (My Fuzzy Valentine - Thanks Aunt Megan) out of her bag and made Bumpa read to her and she had to be in his lap to do so.  It was so adorable!

Then Kensi conned Great-grandma into reading to her too!

And then Gigi!

That evening, Aunt Sharon and Aunt Liz organized a family gathering for all the Rogers/Hayes/Rondeau's so we could see them and meet all the new babies/kids in the family.  It was great seeing cousins, aunts and uncles who we haven't seen since the last family wedding 2 years ago! Kensi had a great time playing with her cousins, Dean, August and Sadie.

The two red heads, Kensi and Dean! Dean is 3 months older than Kensi so they had a great time running around together and playing with cars.

Emily is due in September and Sara next month!

Sadie!
Sadie is 4 months younger than Kensi and they were just precious playing together!

Ummmm adorable.

The moms and babies of the evening.
Missing: Jolynn and her 4 kids, Cate, Grant & Tessa, Sara and Henry (in her belly), and Jacqueline, Avery & Jimmy (who couldn't make it that evening)

August is such a great older cousin. He was very helpful and showed the babies how to play cars. He is one special and very sweet little boy.

On Saturday, we celebrated Grandma's 80th birthday. We all hung out at her house and had a little party. It was really nice to be able to celebrate such a big occasion with the Stout family.

Obsessed with Bumpa and Great-grandma's chair.  She could rock it on her own and wanted to be in it at all times! Such a big girl!!

Playing the piano, for the first time, with Gigi!

Happy 80th Birthday Grandma!

More reading with Bumpa - I couldn't resist getting more pictures of this!

Family picture!
Missing: Jim and Kelli, Anna, Graham and Grace

Four generations! Love this smiley picture!!

On Sunday, it wasn't too rainy or cold, so we decided to go to the Portland Zoo. Kensi wasn't very interested in the animals, I think mainly because she couldn't always see them. But she was very interested in the polar bears and the monkeys/chimps.

Kyle's favorite part was the 'bird cage.' You went in with nectar and the birds would land on your arm/head/back, to drink the nectar. Kensi was pretty amazed by the birds too!

Just walking around with Gigi and cousin Logan

Sunday evening, we were able to see Robin, Grant and Tessa. I forgot to get any good pictures of the three of them.  But they had fun eating and playing together.

We had a great trip to Portland, it was tiring and busy but well worth it! Thank you to all of our family that came to see us and spent time meeting our sweet Kensi.

Susan's Shower/Bachelorette Party

On March 29th Kensi and I were able to celebrate my bestest best friend and her marriage to Max! Susan is getting married in June, but we had a shower and bachelorette party for her.  It was so fun to see my Shuller family and introduce Kensi to her new best friend Ellie, Lindsay's 7th month old.

Kisses for Grandma at the shower

Sus, Auntie Jan and Ellie

Kensi loved touching and smiling at Ellie

My mommy is a sweetheart - Sus loved her gift :)

Kensi loved Auntie Jan and Susan's silly faces

The Shuller and Marks clan

After the shower, we went to a pottery painting place to paint pie pans.  Susan and Max are making pies for desserts for their wedding so we made the pans! They are also going to be the centerpieces on the guest tables.

The group of artists

So painting pottery is a bit harder than it sounds - the paint that you see is not he color that it comes out to be after they are put in the kiln, so my pie pan looks like a gray hunk of dirt, but it will be a green and purple masterpiece very soon!!

Cheers!

My bestie is all grown up and getting married!!

My beautiful mommy and me!

I can't wait until June 21st to celebrate Susan and Max! The wedding is in Charlottesville, VA and we are very excited to travel and stay on the grounds where the wedding will be.  We are also going to visit with Kelli, Stephanie and Adam while we are so close to DC/Arlington.

Kensi's 1st Birthday Party

These pictures are long over due but my excuse is that we have had a crazy past few weeks and all my energy has been geared towards Kensi, Kyle and work. So I am sorry to those (and you know who you are!) that have been waiting for these pictures for almost 4 weeks!

March 22, 2014 - Kensi's First Birthday and birthday party!
Kensi is one special girl - her Aunt Kelli and Grandma and Grandpa Marks were able to come to Georgia to celebrate her 1st birthday with her.  We had a busy weekend ahead of us, party on Saturday and I ran a 1/2 marathon on that Sunday (what was I thinking!). So we were very excited to get the weekend going and celebrate the life of our precious 1 year old.

Birthday morning breakfast - one tired girl!!

Kelli saved the day with making the cupcakes and smash cake - everyone loved the cupcakes and they looked so professional and pretty! And mom saved the day with making most of the food! Thank goodness for wonderful women in Kensi's life to help her crazy mom!

Banners that I got from etsy that matched the invitation :) Elephants and pink and gray chevron, pretty girly, but not too girly, that's what Kensi requested.

Kensi playing with her best bud and future husband, Caleb

Of course, the Dupree boys had to have some fun too!

She wasn't very sure of what to do with this cake in front of her....she didn't eat much of it, but definitely played with it and made a mess :)

Uncle Tommy and Seesha!

The best family picture we could get...
Mad at myself for not getting a good picture with Kelli and my parents! I always forget to document special times in our lives! ugh! But they were there and that's what really matters :)

This past year, has been the craziest and busiest yet but we wouldn't change it for the world. The year has flown by! It feels like yesterday that we were in the hospital waiting for her arrival. Kensi is such a sweet, friendly, smiley, funny and on the go little 1 year old.  We are so lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful little person in our life.  She has taught us so many things, especially patience with each other. We are so excited to see what she brings to this life, because we know it will be something amazing and special.
